Wat is Kalksteen?

Kalksteen is klip wat gevorm is deur verkoolde afsaksel of sediment en het verskeie ander gebruike behalwe boumateriaal. Dit is bv. ‘n belangrike bestanddeel van konkreet, vuller vir tandepaste en verf, bemestingstof vir grond, en so meer.

Kalksteenklip is baie sterk, roes en verweer nie, brand nie, en is nie glad en glyerig nie. Dis mooi en boonop verbeter die natuurlike voorkoms so met die verloop van tyd.
