Bayside Lodge, a 5 bedroomed bed & breakfast, is perfectly positioned in a quiet residential area of Plettenberg Bay. It is near to Plett’s magnificent beaches and the unspoiled Robberg Nature Reserve. Also to sporting facilities (including world class golf courses), shopping centres and restaurants. Thus Bayside Lodge is a perfect base from which to explore the Garden Route and its myriad activities and attractions.

Encompassing peace and tranquillity, this four star graded lodge is a mere 4 minute walk from Plett’s famous blue flag Robberg 5 beach. Since taking over Bayside Lodge in March 2014, owner/managers Bernie and Adrienne have created a friendly atmosphere which is both warm and elegant. Personal attention and exceeding expectations are the hallmarks of this popular lodge.

Welcoming briefings are given on arrival with hot/cold facecloths and a glass of juice provided. Guests are offered maps, brochures as well as discount vouchers for various activities. They also make bookings at recommended restaurants. Most guests enjoy the walk along Robberg beach to the superb restaurants on Central beach for dinner. Then return to the lodge by taxi. You can eat scrumptious breakfasts in the elegant dining room or patio overlooking the tranquil garden.

Breakfast at Bayside Lodge

The buffet by and large, offers a wide selection of fruit, cereal, yogurt, cold meat, cheese, muffins and toast. Cooked breakfasts are of course prepared to order by our cheerful waitresses Martha and Ntombi. Packed breakfasts are available for guests departing early too. Nestled in a secluded corner of the garden is a sparkling salt water swimming pool with umbrellas and comfortable pool loungers. The beautiful garden is a tranquil place to relax and watch the great variety of birds visiting the bird feeders and bird baths.

Our comfortable double volume guest lounge with under-floor heating and fireplace is perfect for relaxing. Here you can browse through books or plan your next holiday. There is a large flat screen television with full DSTV bouquet and DVD player, a library as well as board games. Enjoy sun-downers at the bar or on the patio, which also has a barbecue for guests to use.

Bayside Lodge Suites

The suites are all different with their own individual theme and feel, offering various options for guests. Honeysuckle has a Jacuzzi spa bath and Harmony its own lounge. Sun-kissed and Lighthouse are perfect for a small group or family and finally Finch Cottage has a kitchen and sitting room with its own patio and barbecue. All suites have flat screen televisions, small fridges and tea/coffee making facilities. Also bathrobes, bathroom amenities, electronic safes, fans, heaters, snack baskets and mini bars.

Bayside Lodge Cottages

Families are welcome – Finch Cottage is available for parents with children under six and we do have a cot. There is off-street parking behind an electric gate and the property is covered by CCTV. We recommend a two or three night stay in order to enjoy the beaches and Robberg Nature Reserve. Likewise the Plett wine route and the various animal sanctuaries at The Crags. Day trips combining Knysna and Sedgefield, or, Natures Valley, Tsitsikamma and Storms River, are also a must!
