Food and Drink at Boerqi Bistro

They offer breakfast as well as lunch accompanied by various drinks such as coffees, teas and hot chocolate, etc.

No restaurant/café/coffee shop is worth its name without sweet treats. Boerqi Bistro is no exception what with the freshly baked on the premises lamingtons, fudge and Hertzoggies. Also koeksisters, Astro cupcakes, choc chip muffins and carrot muffins.

Their speciality is wood-fire oven pizza and roosterkoek. You are advised to call roughly 20 minutes ahead to have your pizza ready when you arrive. Customers can of course create their own toppings for pizzas and fillings for roosterkoek and seed loaf. If you are interested in a plaasbrood (farm bread), you need to call ahead to order one. Or two… or three…

The vegan client can create their fillings and toppings from vegan items, or salads, or create a platter from various items such as veggie patties and falafel balls. Also avocado, jalapeno, mushrooms, olives, onions and peppadews, as well as pineapple, sun-dried tomatoes, green figs and herbs, etc.

Boerqi has a hydroponic tunnel in which they grow a number of organic, non-GMO (genetically modified organisms) salads and herbs for use in the restaurant.

They also accommodate special events as well as do catering for events.

In this section of Boerqi you can peruse and buy various interesting items as well as clothing, shoes and hats. Also lots of odds and ends and souvenirs such as tin mugs, glass vases, ornaments, decorative tins, jewellery and scarves which will make lovely gifts.

They also have artworks and Tjhoko paint in a variety of colours and sizes. Stephen Bibb, a well-known local artist exhibits his art in this coffee shop.

Then of course they stock some general grocery-like items such as tea, coffee, golden syrup, vinegar, spices, chutney, various sauces and bottled stuff. Just the place to do some emergency shopping.

Boerqi spesialiseer in pizza en roosterkoek. Kliënte kan hulle eie pizzas bou of vulsels vir hulle roosterkoeke. Daar is ook verskeie vegan-keuses. As jy van die plaasbrood wil hê, moet jy net voor die tyd laat weet.

Hulle kweek hulle eie organiese slaaie en kruies wat in die restaurant gebruik word. Verder akkommodeer hulle geleenthede soos verjaarsdagvierings en so ook doen hulle spyseniering vir geleenthede.
