Boplaas is known for world-class table wines, ports as well as their award winning pot-stilled brandies. A range of these wines can be tasted and purchased at cellar door prices at Boplaas Klipheuwel Tasting Room. Next to the Klipheuwel Farmstall near Little Brak River on the N2 between George and Mossel Bay along the Garden Route. During the December holidays they serve cheese and meat platters for you to enjoy with the wine.
Boplaas Family Vineyards has two tasting rooms – this one at Little Brak River, and the other one at the Boplaas Cellar in Calitzdorp in the Klein Karoo. The owner and cellar master is the Cape Wine Master, Carel Nel. His daughter, Margaux Nel, is the wine-maker at Boplaas Family Vineyards.
Endemic and endangered species of fauna and flora is very near to Carel Nel’s heart. Consequently Boplaas is part of the ongoing research on the shy Cape leopards living in the Rooiberg and Swartberg mountains, by the Cape Leopards Trust.
