Elalini Backpackers and B&B

Also referred to as “The Village” is situated at Goukamma Station, close to Goukamma Nature Reserve and Buffalo Bay (surfer’s paradise).
It is hidden (but can be found!) just off the N2 between Sedgefield and Knysna. It offers its visitors a farmer’s style village setting in the heart of nature.
Accommodation is kept rustic and simple, but cosy, to enhance the traveller’s experience of a rural, peaceful elalini (place of rest). However, the vibe is lively and energetic, with fires burning at night and chattering and laughter extending into the beautiful days under African skies.

The Rustic Tracks Coffee Shop/Diner form an integral part of Elalini, with beautiful views of the rusty train tracks where the Outeniqua Choo Choo used to operate in breathtaking surroundings. Tucked against a forested hillside is a Mexican-inspired Cantina that’s just the place to relax on the deck, sip on a refreshing drink or a localy brewd beer and enjoy an authentic meal or any meal of your choice from the extensive menu.

Consists of 5 houses arranged in a circle, hence the name “The Village”.

Two of the houses is run as a Backpackers. The house consists of three dorm rooms sleeping twelve, an open plan lounge with TV and dining room, and own private braai (barbeque) area.

The Bed and Breakfast houses consist of three double rooms/with shared bathroom, lounge and TV area.

Family Unit

We have a three bedroom house available. Each room has a double bed. There is a living room as well as a toilet, and a bathroom with a toilet, bathtub and hand shower as well as a wash basin. There is also a fridge, microwave, a kettle and a gas stove, with cutlery and crockery. Bedding is provided, we just ask that guests bring their own towels.

The house will be rented out as a unit during season. The house can sleep up to 12 guests comfortably.

Double Rooms

We provide clean linen on all our beds for the duration of your stay.

Kindly bring your own towels as we do not provide this. We are also pet friendly – kindly enquire about availability before arriving with any pets as we also have pets on the property. Bikers are also welcome.
