Culinary Art School equipping students with the necessary skills to be successful in the highly competitive Hospitality Industry. This Chefs Academy provides students with the skills to procure, prepare as well as present good food and wine. They also equip them with Hotel Management skills and has a reputation for training Chefs of quality.
The François Ferreira Academy was founded in 2004. The principal, François Ferreira received his chef training in the Air Force. He has later on acted as the household manager of various presidents. More recently he can be seen at festivals, heard as public speaker, is consulted by restaurants as well as be heard on RSG. He is also an award winning author of various cookbooks. Furthermore he is an incredibly hard-working person and rubs this work ethic off on his students.

François Ferreira Academy Course Information
All lectures are offered in English since all City & Guilds (Internationally accepted standards) lecture notes are in English. Furthermore all courses are also available as a distance learning option depending on student needs. In addition all subjects are offered by professionals in their respective fields. They also make use of guest lecturers for specialist lectures.
During the two year course, the first year is spent studying Culinary Art, and then the students have the choice in their second year to continue in Food Preparation and Cooking, or to study Food and Beverage Management, Accommodation Services and Reception Services. They enrol a maximum of 20 students at a time to ensure individual attention as well as accessibility to lecturers at all times.
The Academy also offers short courses which ensure skills proficiency in three disciplines. These disciplines are Food and Beverage Services, Housekeeping Services, as well as Kitchen Services and should give students a better opportunity to enter the hospitality market locally as well as internationally.
