Hakuna Matata Game Farm
Hakuna Matata Game Farm
Hakuna Matata Game Farm sits about 10km north-west from Great Brak River on the Fragrance Route in the Western Cape. This town is, on balance, halfway between George and Mossel Bay on the N2. From Great Brak River, take the road that leads to Friemersheime, 2km of which is a gravel road. Experience the beautiful scenery that consists of dairy farms and also views of the Outeniqua Mountains.
Stripped of any extravagance, Hakuna Matata is in the heart of the rural area, by and large nestled between green fields and hills. Exclusive as well as private beween cattle, buffalo and a lion’s roar. Enjoy a sundowner, overlooking the dam in front of the chalets.
Hakuna Matata
There are, of course, Bass in the dam for the fly-fisherman. Likewise for the birdwatcher there is a variety of birds like the Knysna and Bush Loerie and Fish Eagle. The farm is home to disease free buffalo as well as a variety of buck. In addition, you can meet Jabo, Kolletjies and Timone – the three hand raised lions. They are, in fact, in captivity and have a beautiful view of the farm and chalets. In summer time, of course, one of the hosts can walk you to them with a flask of coffee and rusks to watch the sunrise from their camp. As a matter of fact, their roar is a delight for the entire neighbourhood. Guests are also encouraged to recycle. There are bins available, and at the farmhouse is also a compost heap for the degradable waste.
