Ingwe (Self Catering, Event, Functions & Weddings Venue, Team-building, Forest Adventures)

Ingwe is situated on privately owned land of approximately 200 hectares, much of which is covered in pristine indigenous forest and is a haven for plant, bird and animal life, creating an ideal location for not only outdoor adventure activities and conservation orientated programs, but also as a venue for conferences and weddings.

The Accommodation and Venue A large wooden barn-style lodge is available for workshops, gatherings and events, with a fully equipped kitchen and an outdoor boma and braai area that overlooks the forest canopy. We also have a large open field that is perfect for a Bedouin tent, and a natural clearing in the forest that provides an intimate setting for a wedding.

Ingwe has accommodation from 2 to 80 people offering both self-catering and catered options.

Self-catering Cabins

Forest Cottage: Sleeps 14 people in 7 bedrooms with an open plan lounge, kitchen and dining area. 2 bathrooms with showers. A private braai area and two wooden decks to choose from to soak up the sounds of the forest. Ideal for large families or groups of friends that love nature.

Olive Tree Cottage: Cosy and charming cottage sleeping 2 people overlooking the forested valleys, ideal for a couple getaway. Private garden and braai area.

Tree House: Most beautiful views from this cabin that has 2 bedrooms, both en-suite and that sleep a total of 6 people. Lovely lounge with fireplace, open plan kitchen and dining area. Stunning deck overlooking the forest, private garden and boma area.

Dormitory cabins 

Honey-badger & Bush-buck

These 2 cabins sleep 26 in each on bunk beds and we provide only sheets on the mattresses. Each cabin has 3 rooms and the beds are sturdy, solid and very comfortable. Wooden decks overlook the forest and both of these cabins make use of an ablution block with showers. The dorms have the use of the communal area called the Lodge that has a fully equipped kitchen, wrap around deck and boma area.

Tailor-made Adventures Programs

The Ingwe programs focus on leadership and team-building in an outdoor, creative and non-competitive environment. The challenges are designed to encourage each member of the group to realise their full potential and use their unique skills to work as a team. Every participant receives a certificate on completion.

The Ingwe team boasts extensive collective experience in the development of individuals and teams of all ages, and all share a passion for education, ecology and the great outdoors. Programs can be tailor-made to suit your specific needs and facilitation is on a 1:10 ratio.

Ingwe is proudly endorsed by the Western Cape Education Department. Guided hikes are on offer on the property and this area is fabulous for birding too. Ingwe has been awarded 11 stars by Eco Atlas for protecting and preserving the environment and is also the head office for the NPO The Green Ticket, a climate change initiative that focuses on offsetting carbon emissions through the planting of trees.
