Neat, cosy self-catering double-storey sea house right above a popular surfing spot in Jongensfontein. A coastal holiday destination in the Hessequa area, Western Cape along the Garden Route. A pretty picture what with its dwellings nestled against the steep hill slopes above the rocky shore. Only 9 km away from Stilbaai, another popular holiday town with many shops and restaurants as well as banks, doctors and much more. This beach house can sleep 6 – 9 people and also offers a baby cot.

Leben Sea Cottage is within walking distance from the sea as well as a small shop and takeaway restaurant. The front entrance to this lovely two storey holiday home allows access to the upper level. The seafront entrances offer access to the bedrooms on the lower level of the house.

From the balcony you can watch the stunning sunsets and moon rises as well as surfers and dolphins enjoying the waves. Also the sea birds drying their wings, rock rabbits, deer and during winter months (June – November) the southern right whales. Or you can just relax and enjoy the vast, uninterrupted views of the Indian Ocean and the constant movement of the waves and the tides.

If you are not familiar with Jongensfontein, it is advisable to ask the locals about the different safe swimming and fishing spots. This is especially important if you have small children as well as during high tides or rough weather. Accommodation at Leben Sea Cottage Jongensfontein

The top level of the house is on street level. On this level is the open plan living/kitchen area as well as one bedroom with a double bed, a single bed and a cupboard. This room opens onto the balcony with its breathtaking views of the ocean. Next to the bedroom is a bathroom with a bath, toilet and basin.

The living area comes with comfortable cane chairs, a flat screen TV with DStv, DVD player, some books, DVDs as well as magazines. This room opens onto the wooden deck with a picnic table, some garden chairs as well as a large sun umbrella. The views from the balcony/deck are simply astonishing.

Between the lounge area and the kitchen, is a breakfast nook with bar stools. The kitchen is equipped for self-catering with items such as a stove with an oven, fridge/freezer and a microwave. Also a kettle, toaster, crockery, cutlery and glasses as well as cooking utensils, and a dishwasher, etc.

Entrance to the lower level from inside the house is by means of a staircase with hand grips. (A safety gate for small children is available on request) On this level are two more bedrooms with a double bed and a single bed each, as well as cupboards and one bedroom also has a baby cot. Both rooms open onto a narrow stoep/patio and lawn with a table and chairs as well as a braai/barbecue area.

There is also a bathroom with a shower, toilet and basin on the lower level. In front of the bathroom is another open space where a washing machine is installed. An ironing board and iron are also available.

Activities and Attractions at Jongensfontein and Surrounds

Endless opportunities for nature lovers such as hiking trails, cycling, bird watching, dolphin watching and whale watching during the season (July to November)
Water activities such as rock fishing, deep sea fishing, swimming, sunbathing and surfing as well as kayaking. Also scuba diving, sail surfing, stand-up paddling and river cruises on the Goukou River at Still Bay.
Although the beach at Jongensfontein is very rocky (making it a fisherman’s paradise) there is a lovely tidal pool where people like to cool off.
You can participate in sport activities like golf, bowls, tennis as well as driving the 4X4 routes with the family.
In addition you can visit the ancient fish traps and other interesting archaeological sites, as well as the daily feeding of the eels in Still Bay.
Furthermore you might be interested in cheese and wine tasting or gin tasting or maybe the many arts and crafts shops.
Of course there are lots of shops, restaurants, flea markets, entertainment and night-life, etc. in Still Bay where you can happily spend your money.

‘n Netjiese selfsorg dubbelverdieping seevakansie-huisie feitlik op die strand in die allerpragste kusdorpie, Jongensfontein. Hierdie huis bied slaapplek aan 6 – 9 persone en het ook ‘n bababedjie beskikbaar. Binne stapafstand van die see en so ook die klein winkeltjie en restaurant wat ook wegneemetes verskaf.

Vanaf die balkon, en so ook die onderste stoep kan gaste die absoluut asemrowende uitsig op die see en omliggende gebied geniet. Gedurende die wintermaande (so Junie – November) kan ook die noorkapperwalvisse gesien word waar hulle in die golwe baljaar.

As jy nie bekend is met Jongensfontein nie, is dit ‘n goeie gedagte om met die plaaslike mense te gesels oor die veilige swemplekke en hengelplekke. Die kus hierlangs is baie rotsagtig en veral gedurende hoogwater, springgety of stormweer, kan mens in die moeilikheid beland. Akkommodasie by Leben Seehuisie in Jongensfontein

Die boonste vlak van hierdie selfsorghuisie is op straatvlak waar die voordeur en parkeerplek ook is. Op hierdie vlak is die leef/eet/kombuisgedeelte en so ook een slaapkamer met ‘n dubbelbed en ‘n enkelbed en ‘n kas. Hierdie kamer loop uit op die balkon waar gaste diesonderlinge sonsondergange kan geniet. Langs die kamer is ‘n badkamer met ‘n bad, toilet en wasbak.

Die leefarea het gemaklike rottangmeubels, ‘n platskerm TV met DStv, DVD-speler en so ook ‘n klompie boeke, tydskrifte en DVD’s. Hierdie vertrek loop ook uit op die houtdek met ‘n piekniektafel, tuinstoele en ‘n groot sonsambreel en so ook ‘n lieflike uitsig.

Tussen die leefruimte en die kombuis is daar ‘n toonbanktafel met kroegstoele waar geëet kan word. Die selfsorg kombuis het ‘n stoof met ‘n oond, yskas/vrieskas, mikrogolfoond en so ook ‘n skottelgoedwasser. Verder is daar ‘n ketel, broodrooster, glase, breekgoed, messegoed, potte en panne en so meer.

Daar is ‘n trap met handrelings af na die onderste vlak waar daar nog twee slaapkamers is, elk met ‘n dubbelbed, ‘n enkelbed en kaste. So is daar ook ‘n bababedjie in een van die kamers. Die kamers loop ook albei uit op ‘n smal stoepie en grasperk voor die huis waar daar ook braaigeriewe is. Daar is ‘n veiligheidshekkie op aanvraag beskikbaar wat aan die bokant van die trap geplaas kan word indien daar klein kindertjies is.

Verder is daar ‘n badkamer met ‘n stort, wasbak en so ook ‘n toilet op die onderste vlak. Voor die badkamer is ‘n oop spasie waar ‘n wasmasjien staan. Daar is ook ‘n strykplank en strykyster beskikbaar.
