Safe play area/jungle gym in our garden as well as an enclosed swimming pool makes Oakhurst Guest House the ideal family getaway or overnight stay.

A sumptuous breakfast is available in the stylish communal dining room, but please note that rates quoted do not include breakfast. Dinner is also available at extra cost and, of course, booking is essential.

Oakhurst Guest House also caters for small functions of a maximum of 30 guests as well as offers conference facilities for up to 20 delegates. Cash bar facilities are available and the lovely garden is in fact a perfect setting for wedding photos.

Accommodation at Oakhurst Guest House

Accommodation comes as 5 luxury rooms in the guest house as well as 3 self-catering units in the garden. One of these self-catering units is designed to meet the special needs of a physically disabled guest.

Guest House Rooms

There are 5 spacious rooms in the guest house. Four of these are double rooms with en-suite bathrooms with bath as well as shower. The rooms have either twin beds, double beds or king size beds with air-conditioning, electronic safes as well as a tea tray. Also a TV with MNet and selected DStv channels, bar fridge with minibar, desk, iron as well as linen, bedding and bath and beach towels. The rooms are also non smoking and has free WiFi.

The fifth room is a family room which can sleep 5 (max 4 adults) people and also includes self-catering facilities. It comes with 2 bedrooms sharing 1 bathroom, one  with a king size bed and the other with a double bed. There is a TV as well as a tea tray in both rooms. In the main room there is also a kitchenette with a bar fridge, microwave and crockery.

Self-Catering Units

There are 3 fully equipped luxury, air-conditioned self-catering units in the garden separate from the guest house. One of these units is designed and equipped to meet the special needs of a physically disabled guest.

The rooms have twin beds or king size beds, a TV with MNet and shared DStv as well as a dining table and chairs. The fully equipped kitchen has a small fridge, microwave, kettle as well as a toaster. Also a two plate stove with oven, crockery, cutlery as well as an iron and ironing board.

Each of these self-catering units also has a patio with braai/barbecue facilities as well as a parking bay.

Activities and Attractions in Riversdale and Surrounds

• Visit churches and residences some of which are dating back to the late 1700’s: Zeekoegat (1795), St Matthews Church (1865), Old Prison (1859), Old Toll House (1856)
• During the warm summer months guests can swim in or relax next to the swimming pool.
• Visit the Julius Gordon Centre and peruse the collection of artworks of some of South Africa’s most famous artists.
• There are various interesting hiking trails, such as to the top of the Sleeping Beauty mountain peak, starting from the old Toll House. Also the Bushbuck trail and the Grysbok trail in the Grootvadersbosch Nature Reserve.
• Mountain bikers can enjoy some of the best and safest cycling routes in town as well as the surrounding country.
• Try out the exciting 4×4 routes, horseback safaris as well as abseiling.
• There is also a picturesque 9 hole golf course where visitors are always welcome.

Oakhurst Gastehuis Riversdal

Hulle bedien ‘n vullende ontbyt, maar, let wel, dit is nie by die oornagprys ingesluit nie. ‘n aandete is ook beskikbaar teen ekstra koste en bespreking is belangrik.

So doen Oakhurst Gastehuis ook spyseniering vir klein funksies tot ‘n maksimum van 30 mense. Hulle bied ook konferensiegeriewe vir tot so 20 afgevaardigdes. So is daar ook ‘n kontantkroeg beskikbaar en die tuin is die perfekte plek vir die neem van troufoto’s.

Daar is 5 ruim kamers in die gastehuis en so ook 3 selfsorgeenhede in die tuin, waarvan een aangepas is vir gestremde gaste.

Gastehuiskamers

Vier van die kamers in die gastehuis is dubbelkamers met en-suite badkamers met baddens en so ook storte. Hulle het tweelingbeddens, of dubbelbeddens of koningsgrootte beddens, lugreëling, elektroniese kluise en teeskinkborde. So ook ‘n TV, kroegyskassie, lessenaar, yster, linne, beddegoed en handdoeke, asook gratis WiFi. Geen rokery in die kamers toegelaat.

Die vyfde kamer is ‘n familiekamer met twee slaapkamers wat een badkamer deel. Daar is ‘n dubbelbed in een kamer en so ook ‘n koningsgrootte bed in die ander kamer. Albei kamers het ‘n TV en teeskinkbord, maar daar is ook ‘n klein kitchenette in die hoofkamer.

Selfsorgeenhede

Daar is drie selfsorgeenhede in die tuin losstaande van die huis elk met ‘n eie parkeerplek, stoep en braaiplek. Die kamers het tweelingbeddens of koningsgrootte beddens, ‘n TV, eetplek en goedtoegruste kombuis. Dinge soos ‘n yskassie, mikrogolf, tweeplaatstoof met oond, ketel, broodrooster en so ook ‘n yster en strykplank.
