This resort is situated in Riversdale, conveniently located on the N2 highway between Cape Town and George in the “Explorers Garden Route”.
Here you can sleep at the foot of the Sleeping Beauty mountain peak in the Langeberg Mountain. She will of course still be sleeping as you pack up and leave for another day full of adventure on the back roads.
This is in fact a popular stopover between the Klein Karoo in the north and the Garden Route. Those brave and adventurous travellers seeking something off the national road coming from the east, usually drive via Cloete’s Pass. Heading to Herbertsdale and Van Wyksdorp to Ladismith and likewise over the Garcia Pass to Riversdale. This scenic drive offers vast Karoo landscapes as well as rural tranquillity that will never disappoint them.
The Takkieskloof Caravan Park and municipal camp offers tourists self catering chalets, overnight rooms, camping facilities as well as a swimming pool. After your stay at Takkieskloof, you can continue on the back road to Heidelberg, or you can of course drive via Gysmanshoek Pass back to Route 62.
Families, schools and groups are equally welcome to stay in the cottages. Equally important, make sure to book before your visit to prevent disappointment.
