This exceptional boutique hotel in Knysna sits on the picturesque Thesen Island within the scenic Knysna estuary. A location which many consider to be one of the most prestigious on the Garden Route.

The Turbine Boutique Hotel & Spa was an ambitious project.  In fact, we transformed an old power station into a unique 5 star boutique Knysna hotel. All the old machinery which was used in this power station has been restored and forms an integral part of the hotels aesthetics.

The hotel offers guests a choice of seventeen standard rooms, six luxury rooms, a honeymoon suite, as well as a self-catering Water Club apartment. Each of the rooms provide luxurious amenities such as a flat screen TV, WiFi, a fully-stocked mini bar, and a tea and coffee station.

Island Café Restaurant

The 90-seater Island Cafe restaurant at the Turbine Hotel and Spa overlooks the stunning canal.  The Restaurant serves up extraordinary dishes from a diverse a la carte menu. The Tapas and Bar Deck, on the other hand, allows guests to enjoy watching the sun go down, whilst sipping on something from the extensive drinks menu, and also filling up on a wide variety of bite-sized snacks. Also featured on-site is the recently established Col’caccio pizzeria, which produces mouth-watering Italian cuisine.

The Amani Spa

The Amani Spa is in fact one of the finest on the Garden Route. The Spa offers guests a wide variety of relaxing treatments such as massages, facials, hydrotherapy treatments, and more.
