Snyman Building Materials

Snyman Building Materials begins unpretentiously with a few bags of cement and second hand building materials for home-owners’ small repairs in and around the house on a small premises in Church Street in 1996.

The shop expands

Hardly three years later the owner, Hennie Snyman, decides to expand and buys a bigger premises in Main Street – a building that was built in 1882 and was occupied in the earlier days by a general dealer. In February this year renovations are started on the old building. It gets painted and the name boards replaced.

Besides Roger, Shaun and Jason, seasoned floor men, Johannes (driver) and Herold (general worker) join the team which elicit positive feedback from clients. Julandie van den Heever and Eddie Dyason help the family with accounts and sales. Hennie’s son, Carl assist with procurement and sales. Together they make a hugely successful team.

Something for everyone

“The shop is every DIY-person, businessman and builder’s dream. Even Grandma and Grandpa is welcome for that single little screw which got lost from the food cupboard door,” says Hennie. They keep a large variety of building materials, tools, gardening equipment, taps, electrical equipment, roofing, isoboards, cornices and much more. “If we don’t have it, we find it,” Carl promises.
