Interesting species seen at Botterkloof include Cape Batis, Brimstone, Cape White – Throated and Yellow Canaries, African Goshawk, Hadeda Ibis, Peregrine Falcon, African Dusky Flycatcher, Brown – hooded and Pied Kingfisher, vast numbers of Common Wax-bills as well as Cardinal and Knysna Woodpeckers.
There are more than 90 species on the resort. Nearby, the Still Bay beach and harbour as well as the Goukou estuary (a proclaimed nature reserve) have an abundance of birds with many excellent bird watching sites.

There are plenty of activities for the family in and around Still Bay, including the beach, or they can relax at the resort itself. The packages include accommodation and can be tailor made to suit your group and the time you have available.
Black Bass Fishing at Botterkloof
Three of our dams are stocked with Black Bass. We operate on a catch and release basis.
Deep Sea Fishing
For the adventurous ones we arrange one day sea fishing excursions from Still Bay. We supply fishing rods, equipment and bait. You also get to keep the fish you catch.
Fish in the Goukou River
Some of the best fishing in Still Bay is in the Goukou River. Record size Cob (Kabeljou) are caught in the Ponds Hole and Grunter are plentiful at the river mouth.
